It's Been Awhile....

[PC: Freepeople blog & bikinibird.com]

Well, hello.

Since my life has been consumed with all things nursing I have been neglecting any form of online communication... sad.

Now I got some free time to share what I've been lusting over!
And all I can say is that I want to be stranded on a beach somewhere with my surfboard and a handful of itty bitty bikinis.

2 weeks of freedom begins... meow.

Pipe Recap...

Looks like it was Aussie domination at this year's Pipe Masters held at the infamous Banzai Pipeline off the coast of Oahu, HI. Crowed winner, Kieren Perrow (35) shredded the gnarly unpredictable waves, got beat up by some rock hard coral & fought his way to the top to a friendly battle between fellow countryman, Joel Parkinson (30) in the Finals (12/10)- all while his little grom watched from the sandy beaches.

Not to mention he'll be bringing a cooooool $75,000 US to the fam back home.

good on ya, mate.

Unstoppable...

Beating down guys nearly half his age, Mr. Slater (39!) wins yet again another ASP World Title yesterday in Ocean Beach, San Francisco. With sheer determination and god given talent- he is seriously a man amongst mere mortals... watch out pipeline- Ke11y's comin' for ya.

Cheers.

Surf's up bro...

Yesterday's surf sesh in Mission Beach wasn't large by any means, mostly baby waves (2-3ft) -which I can handle- but with little wind and my trusty longboard I managed to have a good time. The weather today is phenomenal and I find myself cooped up in my teeny tiny upstairs office- 3 bodies, 3 computers and no aircon- hot? SHIT YEAH. As I contemplate my escape... I'll just wonder how the swell is shaping up...

Bioluminescence at it's finest...

[Video by LoghanCall, shot in Carlsbad, Encinitas and Oceanside- San Diego, California.]

Every so often a red tide falls over the seaside of San Diego County, giving an off-putting bloody water view during the day, but by night a spectacular bright blue light show (caused by phytoplankton called: Lingulodinium Polyedrum, for all you science nerds out there). Although this species can produce toxins that may harm us... surfing it seems like the most logical thing to do. KILLER BRO.
